Jeremy Caddy, President & CEO of Aldershot Resources, describes this gold exploration company’s property in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt.
I come from England, I’m a mining engineer. I graduated from the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College in London a long time ago and I’ve been working in Australia for a long time, up in Malaysia, down in Brazil and recently married a Canadian and started working here.
The property is a gold property. It’s a gold exploration property up near a town called Gowganda near Timmins in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt which basically runs across northern Canada up in the shield. There was an established silver camp called the Gowganda Silver Camp and there are something like two million ounces of silver still in the tailings there so it’s a very prospective area.
It’s an option and joint venture agreement with a company called a Transition Metals Corporation. They’re from Sudbury and very good operators. Surface trenching done, did 21 diamond drill holes, the core looks really good. The drills are drilling now and we should be getting assays and results that will give us an indication of step out holes from then onwards.
