Bahman Yamini, President & CEO of Canasil Resources (CLZ:TSX.V) discusses this exploration company and how they held their own during the difficult period in the markets.
I’ve been the president of Canasil since 2002, some time now. And we’ve been building up the company systematically initially with our projects in British Columbia and then we added the projects in Mexico starting around 2004-2005. So good 10, 12 years working in Mexico now developing the projects.
Canasil is an exploration company focused on silver, gold, copper, lead and zinc exploration. One of our leading projects is the Sandra-Escobar project in northern Durango State, Mexico. It’s a large project, 6,000 hectares and it’s right now under option to Orex Minerals. It’s an excellent partner for the project. Right from the first hole it was a major discovery of high grade near surface disseminated silver system.
As everybody is aware, we’ve gone through a very difficult period in the resource markets and we had to maintain the company and preserve our assets without creating over dilution. We have a very strong share structure. Now with the recent financings we’ve done, we’re very financially strong. We have an excellent partner on our lead project. So, we have a number of assets now going forward to create added value in the company.
