CSE Q1 Video Update

Welcome to the CSE Quarterly video update, keeping you in the loop on important news with the CSE – the Exchange for Entrepreneurs.

This quarter the CSE launched a new website which now makes it even easier to find CSE issuer quotes and important investor data.  CSE’s updated website is now optimized for mobile formats and makes it simpler than ever to find updated Exchange information, service offerings, and support resources.

The CSE went on the road this quarter, making stops at the marquee Canadian Mining Conferences;  Including the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference in January where CSE CEO, Richard Carleton participated on a panel discussing the roles of exchanges during tough markets.  Also, the CSE’s annual luncheon at PDAC in Toronto had record attendance, offering an opportunity for investors and listed companies to connect through presentations, pitches and networking.

The first quarter of 2016 also brought news that in consultation with the Ontario Securities Commission, the CSE has released proposed initiatives designed to strengthen investor protection through enhanced initial and continued listings requirements. These proposed modifications were published by the CSE for public review and comment, and demonstrate the Exchange’s continuing commitment to act in the public interest.

CEO Richard Carlton said “The CSE plays a unique and important role as the only non-bank-owned Canadian exchange for emerging growth companies., These enhancements will strengthen our ability to continue serving entrepreneurs and investors.”

Here are some Key Statistics for Q1 2016 on the CSE:

  • Trading volume in CSE listed securities rose (20)% to a record (758) million shares;
  • The exchange ended Q1 with (327) Tradable securities, representing an increase of (3.16)% compared to the previous the end of 2015
  • CSE companies conducted (58) financings, raising a total of $(39.7) million, down (5.82)% from Q1 2015;
  • Trading volume in shares listed on other Canadian exchanges was (850) million

Some upcoming events include CSE Days in Toronto on April 28th and in Vancouver on May 18th.  These events are highly anticipated by CSE listed issuers and investors alike.  Not only will attendees be entertained and educated by inspirational speakers and info sessions but it’s a great opportunity to network with and learn more about their driven group of entrepreneurs as they grow their businesses.
