Bad News = Good News

Frank Holmes CEO & Chief Investment Officer, US Global Investors

We’ve had a robust wonderful stock market for the past six years, going to seventh year and it’s all what we can do is negativity. So what we said in our thesis is bad news is good news because most governments are actually responding quickly to that bad news. They’re trying to be globally competitive. They’re reinventing themselves. The subcontinent that’s having a greatest difficulty is Europe. They need a committee for a committee for a committee’s meeting.

You’re seeing he’s dragging his feet. It’s taking so long to finally say they’re going to do some quantitative easing. So, that’s their problem but that was taking place in China, all this negativity in China, GDP is slowing down. It does impact resources. However, their stock market, their A share domestic market went up 50% this year. After three years falling, it’s a technical breakout. So, there are great opportunities and the magic is “find them”.
