Ben Whiting, VP of exploration at Orex Minerals Inc., speaks on the company’s numerous silver projects.
Orex is exploring in north-central Mexico. Our key is the silver trend of Mexico. So, silver is one of the commodities that is common to all of our projects. In Durango State the projects are Caneto, it’s a joint venture with Fresnillo and Fresnillo is the largest primary silver mining company in the world. To the north west of Caneto is a project called Sandra Escobar and just recently we’ve been negotiating to consolidate the whole of the Sandra Escobar project into a single project with our neighbors and our neighbors our Pan American Silver. They happen to be the second largest silver mining company in the world. Our other joint venture partner at Sandra Escobar is Canasil Resources. That project in 2016 we made a discovery on. It’s a silver dominated system. We see some parallels to other major systems that are in the state of Durango as well and the chance to explore that as a single count. We’ve negotiated a 100 percent option on a project and it’s called San Luis del Cordero. It has silver plus the base metals, copper and zinc. We are prepared to explore, to drill and to add value to projects in the silver trend of Mexico.
