New Technologies for Gold Exploration
Quentin Yarie, CEO of Red Pine Exploration speaks to the new technologies this exploration company is using to find gold.
I started out in the Geo physical industry. I’ve been working in the mining industry for about 30 years now. I came from the consulting side so I worked on ground geophysics, airport geophysics and about eight years ago I was invited to be the Vice President of Exploration at Red Pine and since then I’ve become the CEO.
We’re in Wawa, Ontario. Gold was first found there in the 1800s, it was a little mini gold rush. Before 1930, there were eight past producing mines on the project. Currently there is Richmond Mines that is a producer in the camp and there is 6 million ounce resource discovered by Argonaut in the area.
We are applying new technologies to the bore holes and the core. What we’re doing is looking at strong geo-chemical signatures. We are currently drilling on the site. We have about 4000 metres of drilling left on this program and we will probably pause for a while and then continue to drill of resources with the intention of putting out a new inferred resource.
Red Pine currently has a one million ounce resource on the site and within that one million ounce resource there is 700,000 ounces in an optimized pit shell. Red Pine hopes to achieve in this area not to be a producer but to advance this project to a level where a major would have interest in it and take it over.
