Reinvigorating Gold Asset in Mature Jurisdiction | Michael Byron | Nighthawk

Michael Byron, CEO and President of Nighthawk Gold Corp., shares the company’s plans to continue developing their Indin Gold Camp asset.

About CEO Clips:

We’re a junior gold explorer and our assets are in the Northwest Territories of Canada. About 200 kilometers north of Yellowknife.  Our focus is on developing a regional gold play in the  Indin Lake Greenstone Belt which we call the Indin Gold Camp. We acquired the asset in 2011 and now we’re developing it and reinvigorating the mine with high grade story line. The permitting process and the NWT is very streamlined and very efficient. Because we did a regional play and consolidated all the ground. So 60 kilometers north south dimension by up to 30 kilometres east west so, roughly 900 square kilometers.

We were able to acquire that last asset which consolidated our regional gold play. It’s a mature jurisdiction for mining, it has a lot of diamond mines and 400 producers in base metals and gold mining. So you have that workforce, you have a support of the territorial government in the first nations government.

We’re going into our eighth year of drilling up there and it’s a very streamlined approach. We have a 2.1 million ounce resource that we did after only one drill program. And that was because we were validating the historical work. That was left by the previous producers. And that’s put us on the doorstep of doing a resource update in 2018. As a result that will deliver where we’ve added another 50 plus thousand meters. So we think where we’re going to drive this deposit to 3 million and beyond.
