Premier Zinc Mining Camps in Canada

President and CEO of Osisko Metals, Jeff Hussey speaks about how they are well positioned to create value in in two of Canada’s premier zinc mining camps.

Osisko Metals is probably one of the best junior mining houses in Canada. We’ve taken a dominant position in the Bathurst Mining Camp and also we’re in the process of acquiring Pine Point. Bathurst, located in New Brunswick Canada, was the largest zinc producing mining camp in the world. Pine Point was the most profitable. So we’re very happy within a year to have secured a dominant position in both of those mining camps. Our future plans are to take the historical resources and convert them to 43-101 compliance and move it very fast towards development. We’re focused on base metals and right now due to the fundamentals of zinc that’s the key point. Since 2014 there’s been 80 percent supply destruction of zinc on the LME and the Shanghai. So this is what initiated our emphasis in zinc and we’re very happy to say that we have secured two of the best mining camps in Canada. Osisko Metals has what I consider the best board of directors and the best management in the base metal junior mining space. They also are there for technical expertise so we reach out to them if we’re looking at certain projects for a development phase, we work with them. As far as access to capital, just the brand name has helped a lot in raising the 41 million we raised earlier last year. We’re well funded and ready to create value in two of Canada’s premier zinc mining camps.
