Quentin Yarie on New Technologies for Gold Exploration
Quentin Yarie, CEO of Red Pine Exploration speaks on the new technologies this exploration company is using to find gold.
Quentin Yarie, CEO of Red Pine Exploration describes his path along the geophysical industry. In he mining industry for 30 years, he came from the consulting side and has worked on ground geophysics and airport geophysics. About eight years ago he became the Vice President and CEO of Exploration at Red Pine.
Currently, the company is working at Wawa, Ontario. Gold was first found there in the 1800s, when there was a mini gold rush. Before 1930, there were eight past producing mines on the project. At present there is Richmond Mines that is a producer in the camp, and there is a 6 million ounce resource discovered by Argonaut in the area.
The company is applying new technologies to the bore holes and the core, looking at strong geo-chemical signatures.
Currently drilling on the site, they have about 4,000 metres of drilling left on this program. Probably the work will be paused for a while. Then it will go on with drilling the resources with the intention of putting out a new inferred resource.
Red Pine currently has a one million ounce resource on the site. Within that one million ounce resource there are 700,000 ounces in an optimized pit shell.
Red Pine does not hope to be a producer in this area. They intend to advance the project to a level where a major would have interest in it and take it over.
