Analysts’ Long Term View on Copper

Mining Analyst at Cormark Securities, Stefan Ioannou, shares his thoughts on copper long term

“By no means is trading at historic highs right now, but by no means historic lows either.” says Ioannou. He believes a key thing to recognize in the industry is that over the last 10 or so years, we’ve seen a lack of funding going into developing and discovering new projects. “That stands to catch up with the market and lead to a supply deficit. And in time, new projects will have to be brought on.” Ioannou continues.
