CEO Clips - Centaurus Metals Advances Jaguar Nickel Project Toward Development in Brazil

Large-scale nickel sulphide asset targets 20,000 tonnes annual production
What is Centaurus Metals developing at Jaguar?
Centaurus Metals is advancing its Jaguar nickel sulphide project in northern Brazil, targeting approximately 20,000 tonnes of annual nickel production from an initial open-pit operation with a projected 15-year mine life.
Nickel has become a critical component in the global energy transition.
Used in batteries, electrification infrastructure, and industrial applications as a key ingredient in stainless steel, demand for nickel continues to grow as industries look for reliable supply sources.
Centaurus Metals is positioning itself within that trend through its Jaguar nickel sulphide project in Brazil.
Since acquiring the asset in 2019, the company has completed significant technical and development work and is now entering what management describes as the funding phase—a key step before making a final investment decision.
According to CEO Darren Gordon, Jaguar is designed as a large-scale nickel sulphide project, with an initial plan focused on open-pit mining.
That open-pit portion alone is expected to support a 15-year mine life, providing a long-term production base.
The project is targeting approximately 20,000 tonnes of nickel per year, placing it within the mid-tier production range.
Management also emphasizes several core attributes of the asset: scale, cost profile, and environmental footprint.
The company believes Jaguar represents a large and relatively low-cost resource, with development plans designed to balance operational efficiency with environmental considerations.
At this stage, the primary focus is securing product offtakes and a funding package to advance the project toward construction.
