BluEnergies: Could Liberia’s Undrilled Harper Basin Hold a Major Offshore Oil Discovery?

BluEnergies is advancing deepwater oil exploration offshore Liberia, targeting a potential major discovery in the undrilled Harper Basin as global energy companies expand their presence in the region.

After evaluating 42 countries and more than 30 basins, BluEnergies identified Liberia's Harper Basin as a promising frontier for deepwater oil exploration. With no wells drilled to date, the company believes advances in offshore drilling technology could unlock significant oil potential in a region with geological similarities to Guyana's prolific Stabroek Basin.

Interest in Liberia's offshore resources is growing, with TotalEnergies securing four neighbouring blocks in September 2025 and several global oil majors establishing positions in the region. BluEnergies aims to capitalize on its early entry as exploration activity expands.

With a major energy partner, approximately $20 million in cash and no debt, BluEnergies is working toward securing production-sharing contracts and advancing plans for the first exploration well in the Harper Basin.
