Centaurus Metals Targets Nickel Production Growth with Jaguar Development Project

Brazilian nickel sulphide asset moves toward funding and construction decision
Why is Centaurus Metals focused on the Jaguar nickel project?
Centaurus Metals is focused on advancing its Jaguar nickel sulphide project because it combines scale, low-cost potential, and long mine life, with plans to produce around 20,000 tonnes of nickel annually once developed.
As global industries shift toward electrification, nickel has become an increasingly important metal.
From battery production to industrial applications as a key ingredient in stainless steel, reliable nickel supply is a growing priority for both manufacturers and investors.
Centaurus Metals is working to develop that supply through its Jaguar nickel sulphide project in Brazil.
The company has spent several years advancing the project since acquiring it in 2019, completing technical work that has now positioned Jaguar for the next stage: funding and development.
The current development plan focuses on an open-pit operation, which is expected to support a mine life of approximately 15 years based on the initial resource.
At full production, Jaguar is expected to deliver around 20,000 tonnes of nickel per year.
Management describes the project as both large in scale and competitive in cost, two factors that can influence long-term project viability.
The company also highlights the project’s environmental footprint as part of its overall development approach.
At this stage, the primary objective is to secure offtake and financing required to move into development.
Once funding is in place, the company will be positioned to make a final investment decision and commence construction of the Project.
