Kootenay Silver is advancing exploration at its Columba discovery in Mexico, where a maiden resource outlined 54 million ounces of silver and further drilling is underway to expand the deposit and potentially support a future economic study.

Silver exploration often builds momentum through repeated discoveries within a single district.

Kootenay Silver has spent nearly two decades applying that strategy in Mexico.

The company began as a private venture focused on prospecting in the country before going public in 2005. Since then, Kootenay Silver has made four silver discoveries, building a portfolio of deposits across its Mexican projects.

Collectively, those deposits contain more than 220 million  measured and indicated  Silver Equivalent ounces,  along with an additional 111 million Inferred Silver Equivalent ounces

In recent years, the company’s exploration focus has shifted toward its Columba discovery, which management considers its flagship project.

In May of last year, Kootenay Silver released a maiden resource estimate at Columba totaling approximately 54 million ounces of silver.

The deposit stands out not only for its size but also for its grade.

The resource carries an inferred grade of roughly 284 grams per tonne silver, placing it among higher-grade silver deposits within the exploration sector.

The company is now running an active drilling campaign designed to expand the known mineralization.

According to CEO James McDonald, the program is expected to deliver consistent exploration results through the remainder of the year, providing regular updates to investors.

The objective is to grow the resource and advance the project toward its first economic study.
