Focused on the exploration and development of helium
Desert Mountain Energy is an exploration and resource company focused on the discovery and development of rare earth gas fields in the U.S. The company is primarily looking for elements deemed critical to the renewable energy and high technology industries.
Specifically, Desert Mountain has been going after helium in northeast Arizona. Furthermore, they're doing so in the most green and environmentally friendly way possible while creating the smallest carbon footprint.
"My goal is to be the leader in the helium space by building a fully vertically integrated company," says, President and CEO, Robert Rohlfing.
Although helium is best known as a lifting gas, its use is greatly diversified. Cooling the magnets in MRI systems now accounts for thirty percent of all helium consumption. It also helps launch rockets, and can help drive antibiotics deep into the lungs of COVID patients. The uses for helium continue to be discovered.
The Holbrook Basin Project
The Holbrook Basin Project comprises of over 85,000 acres of key Helium prospects under lease. Further, the project sits in the prolific Holbrook Basin in East Central Arizona, widely considered to be the world’s best address for Helium and referred to as “The Saudi Arabia of Helium”.
Globally, the average well produces under 3 to 4 percent helium. Markedly, in Arizona’s Holbrook Basin, where Desert Mountain has been exploring, some existing wells have produced around 8 percent helium on average and Desert Mountain’s drilling compares very favorably.
"Earlier this year, we had just completed the acceleration of warrants to help bring in all the money that we need to finish doing all of our drilling and production for this year. Towards the end of the year we will actually be going into operation," says Rohlfing.
