Investing in Yukon's mining industry
The Invest Yukon story has a 150+ year history, from the days of the Klondike Gold Rush to the emerging Yukon polymetallic rush. Yukon has all of the right elements in place to welcome mining investment and operations. Further, the Government of Yukon is making major investments in infrastructure. "We're always looking at improving our infrastructure, whether it be roads or telecommunications. We do have 5000 kilometres of road network in place," says Yukon's Minister of Economic Development and Energy, Ranj Pillai.
Mining has continued to contribute to the economy in the Yukon. Over the last 10 years, there have been a multitude of discoveries that have brought this jurisdiction to the forefront. Additionally, it has a positive impact on the communities.
"We are at the beginning stages of discovery and that's what is unique about the Yukon," Shawn Ryan, Chief Technical Advisor and Director at White Gold.
