MABC: Why Is There Momentum in BC’s Mining Industry?

Strong commodity prices, active projects and growing demand for critical minerals are creating a favourable climate for British Columbia’s mining sector.

‍

British Columbia is one of Canada’s most important mining jurisdictions, and the Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) sees several factors converging to grow the industry.

Strong commodity markets coincide with significant mining projects and growing demand for minerals produced in BC. At the same time, mining is recognized for its important contribution to the provincial economy, national security, and transitions to a lower-carbon future.

For investors, the combination of resource demand, project development opportunities, First Nations partnerships, and public support is bringing renewed attention to  mining’s role to provide Canada’s allies and partners with the minerals, metals, and steelmaking coal they need.
