Osisko Gold is advancing its fully permitted and financed gold project in BC’s historic Wells-Barkerville mining camp, with construction underway, 16 drill rigs operating and first gold targeted for 2029.
Osisko Gold is bringing gold mining back to British Columbia’s historic Wells-Barkerville mining camp. With approximately US$1.3 billion in available funding supporting a US$771 million mine build, the company is progressing through a 30-month construction phase. The project is already 22% complete, based on costs incurred to date, with more than 400 people on-site.
Beyond mine construction, Osisko controls a 1,550-square-kilometre property spanning an 83-kilometre potential mineralized trend, with only 14 kilometres explored to date. The company has committed +C$160 million to exploration and infill drilling over the next 2 years, supported by 16 active drill rigs. Its emerging Proserpine discovery, a target spanning approximately six kilometres in length by 1 kilometre in width, highlights the district’s future exploration potential.
With construction underway, substantial exploration funding and an experienced leadership team behind the project, Osisko Gold is targeting first gold production in early 2029. The company aims to establish a major Canadian gold operation while unlocking further discoveries across the historic Cariboo mining camp.
