Kodiak Copper: Can a Fully Funded Drill Program Unlock a Much Larger Copper Resource?

Kodiak Copper is moving from resource definition to resource growth at its MPD copper-gold project in British Columbia, backed by a recent $15 million financing and an expanded drilling program.

After seven years of exploration and substantial drilling, Kodiak Copper reached a major milestone in December 2025 with the release of its maiden mineral resource estimate spanning seven deposits at the MPD project. With an initial resource now established, the company's focus is shifting toward determining how much larger the copper-gold system could become.

A recent $15 million financing gives Kodiak the capital to significantly expand its drilling program. Management sees considerable potential to grow the existing resource through continued exploration, with drilling aimed at supporting an expanded resource estimate targeted for early 2027.

Kodiak is also working to unlock value from assets outside its core British Columbia project. The company recently announced a transaction with Teck Resources involving its non-core copper-cobalt copper porphyry asset in Arizona. Under the proposed transaction, Kodiak's asset and an Arizona project contributed by Teck will form part of anew company expected to list on the TSX Venture Exchange. Kodiak views the transaction as an opportunity to crystallize value from an asset that is not currently central to its valuation.

For investors, the next stage of Kodiak's story is increasingly about scale. Management believes continued drilling and resource growth could help narrow the valuation gap between Kodiak and more advanced copper developers with larger resources.

With an established maiden resource, fully funded drilling, significant exploration upside, and a strategic transaction with a major global mining company, Kodiak Copper is entering a catalyst-rich period focused on demonstrating the larger potential of its copper-gold portfolio.
